The Man Who Is All Eyes For Michael Jackson
 author: Vance Cureton

There is a man about town who believes that Michael Jackson is a pervert.
A pedophile. A child molester. His name is Tom Sneddon, Jr.  And for the
second time the King Of Pop has slithered out of his grasp. A jury of
Jackson's peers saw little merit in Sneddon's child molestation case, and
allowed the frail pop star to walk out of court and into the sunshine as
 a free man.

Oh the agony that Sneddon must feel inside. His is the life of the Santa
Barbara, County D.A. A career man who has encountered the worst that
society can bring. The murderers, bank robbers, swindlers, kidnappers,
wife beaters, and maybe even a serial killer or two. But the child molester
is the worst breed of all because pedophiles do not have the excuse of
insanity that in some respects, offers a level of understanding to those
warped souls who kill other human beings for sport.

Sexual attraction to children is repugnant. The specter of their precious
child being molested  - and potentially damaged  for life - is every parents
greatest fear. Nothing else even comes close. Tom Sneddon believes
Michael Jackson is just such a monster. A predatory ghoul disguised
behind the mask of an asexual Peter Pan.

Sneddon is not alone in that belief. The sensationalized - almost to the
point of hysteria - of such media networks as Court TV should only have
added to Sneddon's arsenal of weaponry against Jackson. Despite the
prosecutor's sympathizers on certain cable channels, the jury rejected
 the case across the board.

The slander against Jackson that reigned supreme on the airwaves did
not make it into the jury room.

There is a big question as to whether or not Sneddon was blinded by
his own zeal to get at Jackson. He claims he has no personal animus
against the pop star. Why then, would an such experienced district
 attorney blunder so badly?

Sneddon believed the word of a family of grifters and opportunists.
Did he hear only what he wanted to hear? That Jackson was indeed
a grown man with an eye for little boys, and this time he had him.

In fact, Sneddon threw everything he could at Jackson, even engaging
in psychological warfare. Someone near to the prosecutor's office must
have leaked the grand jury testimony that scandalized the trial in the
 early days of the proceedings.

Heh. Heh. We hear the denials, already.

Then there was the army of police officers who trashed Jackson's beloved
Neverland Ranch as they executed a search warrant. Were these officers
searching for Weapons of Mass Destruction? A tunnel leading to China?
 Jimmy Hoffa?

All of it was excess and is proof to objective observers as to how badly
Sneddon wanted "this" particular Peter Pan behind bars.

So now, the defeated Sneddon does the talk show circuit, proclaiming
what no one believes for a second. The lie that Michael Jackson was
just another perp. This abysmal case should never have been brought
to trial in the first place. More often than not, it takes evidence to convict
an individual of a serious crime. Not just a bad reputation. A jury of
rational people just will not send someone up the river to do hard time
on evidence that is as weak as tap water in a whiskey barrel.

Water isn't whiskey. It won't pass the test.

An experienced prosecutor such as Tom Sneddon, Jr. shouldn't need
anyone to remind him that without a certain professional detachment
and the patience to wait until the right moment to round up a posse,
the lawman doesn't always get his man.
