 A Slightly Different Perspective On Vicente Fox's 
 Apparent Racist Attitude Towards Blacks

 Whenever a politician puts his BIG foot in his mouth, there is usually 
 an immediate scrambling around amongst his subordinates to get the word 
 out that he didn't really say exactly what everyone heard him say. Such is 
 the current campaign by Mexican President Vicente Fox's associates to 
 clean-up a noxious comment that he made last week in the Mexican city 
 of Puerto Vallarta.

 Fox stated that there were certain jobs that American blacks did not want.
 Jobs that industrious Mexican illegals were more than eager to fill.

 "There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and 
 ability to work, are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in 
 the United States."  Read the words again. "There is no doubt that 
 Mexicans filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work..."

 Is there not a racist connotation in that comment? The racism is not in 
 what Fox explicitly said about blacks. It is in what he did not say. It was 
 the meaning between the lines. The inference left hanging in the air.

 Does Vicente Fox believe that American blacks as a class of people lack 
 initiative? Maybe the Mexican President should consider that black 
 Americans aren't willing to allow themselves to be exploited in the very 
same underground economy that Mexican illegals - by virtue of their 
 residing in the United States without governmental consent - are dependent 
 upon.

 Leaving aside Fox's disdainful comment for a moment, this is just another 
 example of how the invasion from south of the border has gotten completely 
 out of hand. Of how upside down the situation has become. 

 Mexican citizens compose the vast majority of the illegals that enter the 
 United across our southern border each year. These people wander to 
 every corner of the nation. 

 There are literally millions of them.

 Once here, these illegals demand public health care assistance, driver's 
 licenses, a public school education for their children, and then state tuition 
 allowances once these youngsters reach the college years. 

 No wonder so many Mexicans want to leave their own country. The United 
 States must seem like paradise in comparison.

 America as a nation is being abused. When people who break the law
 begin "demanding" the same priviledges that should be awarded only to 
 citizens and foreign nationals that are legally in the country, then the whole 
 society is damaged. There are so many Mexicans in this country without 
 proper papers, that even Mexicans who are here within the law are negatively
 impacted. 

 The illegals force down the wages of people who already struggle at or 
 near the poverty line.

 It is not unfeeling to expect that our immigration laws be respected. Vicente
 Fox needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror. He is a big part of the
 problem, and his racially insensitive comment about blacks only proves 
 that he doesn't grasp the whole picture. 

 Fox is deluding himself if he believes that the illegals residing in America 
 represent an economic bonus for both countries. There is a cost to be paid 
 that can't be measured in mere dollars and cents. Illegals wandering through 
 backyards in the middle of the night, strolling across farms and ranches 
 without a concern that they are trespassing on private property, have 
 a deleterious effect upon the quality of life of people in certain areas of the 
 vast American southwest. The taxpayers of states such as Texas, New Mexico, 
 and Arizona are being particularly put upon in a negative way.

 This is an outrageous situtuation and it long, past time that a stop be 
 put to it. If Vicente Fox can clear his mind of his delusions he must come 
 to realize that America is not the country that is hemorrhaging her life's 
 blood.

 Mexico is. 

 Senior Presidente needs to instill in his people the notion that real
 self-sufficiency begins at home.
