 The Amber Frey Magic Media Tour
 { Cashing In On The Tragic Circumstances Of The Peterson Case }

 We are loathe in this space to comment again on the tragic exploitation of 
 the deaths of Laci Peterson and her unborn child, Connor. To add more words
 where none are necessary. This particular murder trail was never culturally 
 significant. Neither was this case important or noteworthy from a standpoint 
 of the law. Yet, for two agonizing years various media outlets - particularly
 on the cable side of the dial - fanned the flames of controversy and outrage,
 all for the sake of the ratings dollars that were sure to follow.

 At last, in December 2004 a shallow empty man was found guilty of Laci's
 murder in a heavily cirmcumstantial case that had next to nothing in the 
 way of physical evidence against him. Scott Peterson was convicted on 
 the character issue. He was successfully labeled by the prosecution as 
 a cold-blooded sex fiend, a shameless manipulator of women, a pathological 
 liar, and the one person responsible for the deaths of the previously mentioned
 Laci and Connor.

 The press went farther and called Peterson a sociopath.

 The man was not only convicted, but he was sentenced to death, basically 
 because he's a rat. He's a lousy excuse for a human being. The jury hated 
 the guy. They despised his lack of emotion in the courtroom. As a consequence, 
 next month the trial judge will doubtless adhere to the jury's recommendation 
 and send Peterson off to the lonely corridors of death row at San Quentin.

 He will be a dead man walking.

 So now all that is left is the tidying up. And there is plenty of that to be
 done. From almost day one a young woman has been force-fed to the 
 public as the center of the case. This was done by her high-profile
 publicity-seeking lawyer. A relentless woman who seemed to have 
 cloned herself in order to appear on every nightly cable talk show in the 
 known universe. 

 The young woman "at the center of the case" was of course, Amber Frey. 
 A single mother and former message therapist. Frey was Scott's love interest 
 during the period when Laci was murdered. In fact, it was Frey's secret
 telephone recordings of Scott that most likely condemned him.

 The Amber Frey tapes, if you will, really did seem to swing the momentum
 of the case. So, again, if Scott did the crime he must suffer the consequences.
 But now the public must suffer a suddenly publicity-hungry Frey. Currently 
 she is doing a teary-eyed media tour appearing on Dateline and Oprah 
 and revealing in her waifish almost child-like voice how terrible it was that 
 this man Scott Peterson came into her life. 

 She thought he wasn't married!

 No kidding.

 Amber's close association with a murderer is no joke, but neither is the 
 fact that two people are dead and hardly just placed in the ground, and 
 already she's doing a book tour. Isn't that amazing, when all the while 
 we were led to believe that Amber Frey was all about selflessly doing 
 her civic duty when she agreed to cooperate with the police, blah, blah,
 blah.

 Of course Oprah wants her on. And all of the other talk shows, as well.
 There are bills to be paid and ratings points to go after. Now that the trial 
 is over there is still a dollar to be made. So out with it Amber, lets us hear
 you whimper and see your tears as you lament the horror of having had
 a heartless murderer in your warm bed.

 Your life will never be the same. 

 If a man were raking in the cash like Amber Frey is doing right now, 
 there would be one word for it.

 Sleazy.
